Kipchoge anchors the meeting point here in North San Juan, CA. His micro-shack 120 square feet in size ‘on the ridge’ between the south and middle Yuba rivers in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas is now temporarily home to seven revolutionaries as we prepare for the Mexico/Central America tour.

December 31st- The first members to arrive from a two-day Florida to California mission were Jared, extra-ordinary bassist revolucionario with bike living veteran status, Matt, friend of Jared and new crew member recently back in the states from teaching in China, ready to continue world travels, chop wood and speak spanish, and I, the sole returning crew member, fresh off the northeast tour and feeling again drawn to join the Pleasant Revolution.

Cory, passionate musician-guitar player from Portland, OR, and additional craiglist connection, arrived on Jan 5th among other factors to overcome boredom with undergrad education.

Dave the new drummer taking time off from his music studies at Berklee in Boston, and another new crew member/musician Josh from Worcester, MA, tiptoed into the shack around 2am, Jan 8th. Dave and Josh both met the band during the northeast tour.

Laughter, the group’s new merchant and experienced traveler/wanderer/musician also lives on the ridge and will meet us in Mexico once her passport gets here. She will leave California with her son and recent high school graduate, Brian, who wants to join the journey for a short while before he settles in Grass Valley, CA.

More will join inevitably.

For now, we are nine…
